Hello All
One of my users installed OS4 on a working Iphone 3GS accessing Exchange Via wireless (internal) and VPN (External)
Since OS4 the phone now displays unable to verify account information.
Help Please.
I'm having the same problem. I'm an IT administrator but what settings if anything do we need to change on the Exchange server? Our iPhones who've upgraded to iOS4 can only access their email externally but when they're on our internal Wi-Fi, they keep getting "Unable to verify account information". Everything worked perfectly before the upgrade. Help would be greatly appreciated.
I had the same issue. I turned off wi-fi under settings and it allowed me to set up my enterprise server account and sync when using 3-G. Hope that works for everyone. My IT person, Anita Barry figured this one out.
Yeah everyone seems to be able to set this up perfectly when on 3G or external Wi-Fi, but as soon as we connect to the company's internal Wi-Fi, it's unable to connect.
Hi All
I tired switching off the internal wireless and this fails maybe because i set up with internal wireless and then access the mail via VPN as my internal server is only accessable via VPN.
So i tired to downgrade and appl dont let you do that
i spent 1 hour on the phoen to apple who say its not them its exchange
Sat in my office with an Iphone 3.1.3 and it works and 4.0 does not
Yeah I find it very hard to believe that it's Exchange. It has to be Apple. Obviously many people are starting to have this problem and everything works perfectly for iPhones prior to the iOS4 update. Apple, if you see this, something is obviously going wrong with the iOS4 and internal Exchange email. Please acknowledge and find this bug and release a bug-fix update ASAP because I'm sure people across the world are experiencing the same problem. This could hurt your edge on the other smartphones out there if people can't connect to their email inside their corporate networks!
I reset the network settings, deleted and recreated my email account with many different settings including both on and off the network, reboot my phone and unfortunately it still has the same problem. The email only works externally on 3G or external Wi-Fi. Is there anything else you did? Thanks.
I talked to an Apple Expert yesterday and he said that the problem appears when people restored their backups from a previous iPhone. He recommended making sure you save your data (contacts, calendar, music, photos, etc.) on your computer, then reset your iPhone back to factory settings, and when you plug it into iTunes, select the "I want a setup a new iPhone" option instead of restoring from backup. Then you'll have to re-sync all your data again. He said if you choose the new iPhone option, you shouldn't have that problem. I told him that it would be a pain for everyone in my company to do that and I tried pushing him to make this issue aware to the developers and to include it in a next software patch. He said he'll do his best to get people to investigate the issue. I have NOT tried his recommended method yet because I don't feel like wiping out my iPhone again, we'll probably just have to wait for a new update to iOS 4.
that may resolve the issue for the 'unable to resolve' issue you guys are having, but it doesn't fix the send email on exchange problem. We tried setting up new iphone 4s and 3gs with ios4 as new, problem still existed.
I had the same issue with none of my Exchange info syncing with my iPhone 4. After deleting and re-adding the account as well as numerous hard reboots, I gave up. It would verify my account as an exchange account but could connect when the second verification cam eup. I selected "save anyways" and left it alone. It took about 30 minutes but eventually it did sync up. I use godaddy hosted exchange and they had told me they are seeing a lot of activity becuase of the heavy network traffic so that may cause some service interuptions.
