Brand New iPhone 4 Accessory Error when not connected to Anything at all!
I got my phone out the box and immediately began experience this message. "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone" - "You may experience noise caused by cellular interference and a decrease in cellular signal strength" - It was not, and had never being attached to anything. I have reset and restored it to IOS4 (not synced).
The message persists about once a minute, even if the phone is sleeping. It's too new to have lint trapped in it, even though I have checked the dock area for obstructions.
Same problem here- it has been ongoing for about a month now. I also noticed that the battery life is about half what it was before this began. I have tried the hard reset, still nothing- also, the wi-fi is no longer working. Nothing has been done to this phone other than the regular upgrades from apple. Any suggestions???
This means exactly what it says. That means that the iP accessory was not "optimized" for the iP. In my opinion, it's a gimmick, and is something along the lines that the accessories aren't shielded for the iPhone, or some other cr@p like that. In my opinion, it's a gimmick to sell you overpriced accessories, and to keep you from purchasing non-Apple products.
Well, no. This stereo was purchased last year. It's fully compatible. Here what I actually figured out last night. If you have a faulty data cable it will interfere with the data flow causing this error to occur. Try swapping out your data cable for a new one. It worked for me, works like a charm.

Harder to explain is why this also happens to me, with the iPhone 4 in a JBL speaker/dock. There is a next-to-zero chance that the dock connector in the JBL has somehow been damaged during the few days I've had the new iPhone as compared to the many days I used the 3GS. It is also hard for me to understand why this message just popped up today while the iPhone 4 was in the JBL dock, but did not pop up over the past several days while the iPhone 4 was in the same JBL dock.
