Thanks for all the quick replies, i checked the manual and the icon isnt stated anywhere, which is really strange, and i checked the location services and it aint that either (that looks like a proper arrow) This one is literally like a blue triangle, that is directly in the top left corner, almost off the screen.

I'm pretty sure it's not the location aware icon, he's saying it's on the LEFT TOP corner. I got it too today.. it peels the corner off the top left of the screen, just a really weird thing. Def not a defect, just some kind of notification? whatever... I'd really like one of those Ohh what do you call it... PAPER MANUALS with the drawn diagram of all the status lights etc & their definitions. :P

Not sure "answered" is correct for this post, it seems pretty likely it's a bug, even if there is a temporary way to get rid of it via sliding to the search screen.

For me it was showing up in the home screen, any app when you bring up the task switching bar, and in fullscreen apps (which is most annoying). Not intended to be an exhaustive list, just where I saw it.

And it still stays in the same physical screen location when in landscape mode, by the way (see screenshot of fullscreen landscape video in iTunes app).

Same thing happened to me yesterday and this post is all that seems to talk about this triangle out there. This topic is definitely not answered nor is this question solved.

The triangle did not disappear by sliding to the spotlight search, and it vanished while the iPhone was charging. And even though the manual is not on paper, there's no reason while it should not appear in it. Pages 17 and 18 would be the place to have this information.

I just got one on my screen, and I also have the iPhone 4 + latest software. I moved over to the spotlight search screen just as someone else on this discussion said they did. It instantly vanished. There is no pixel damage like some say... I have no idea what it is. I had just closed out of my camera and locked my phone 5 mins prior whrn I double tapped for the music and it was there. But I will try and research what it might be caused by... At least they disappear... (just found it odd that it didn't disappear in any screen until I went to the spotlight search) I didn't think of rebooting...
