I am having an issue with the new iPhone 4. My cheek seems to be hitting the buttons on the screen while I'm on a call, even though the screen seems to turned "off" when you put it up to your ear. Its often hitting the speak button, so switching between speaker and ear piece quickly.
I've used an iPhone since the original and never had this issue. Anyone else seeing this?
YES! I've had this since I got my iPhone yesterday! I'm in the middle of a conversation and all of a sudden the person cant hear me. I look at my phone and the MUTE button is pressed. I've accidentally added calls and even initiated FACETIME. I've NEVER had this on previous models
Ok... this is getting ridiculous!!! Did the "reset all settings" thing, but i'm constantly hanging up on people, or muting, or starting facetime.... something is definitely wrong on my phone!
I'm also having this problem. The worst part for me is somehow I seem to be attempting to start a second call and I've accidentally called two people from my favourites list. It will also hit mute or end call. Never had any problems on my iPhone 3G with this so I know my cheek isn't irradiated or something. 😉
On my old phone you could hit the power button and it would lock the screen. The new phone just hangs up when you do this. I do find it pretty irritating that you can't lock while on the phone. It seems like there should be a pretty easy fix for that. I have noticed though that when I type the word me it doesn't come up mr so that is nice.
I had that issue with my 3G only when it was in the case. I've had it with this phone too, but I just hit the home button to put it on the main screen and didn't have the problem now. It was also in the case with this phone when it happened. haven't tried it without the bumper case on it.
Just muted a phone call 3 times, hung up 4 times on friend who told me that if it happened a 4th time I should get the T-Mobil, $40.00 clamshell he has. It wasn't funny on 4 hours of sleep, having waited 6.5 hours on lines today for 2 phones.
My screen was dark when it happened each time. But I noticed the proximity sensor turned the screen on if it was a millimeter away from my face. It was dark out?
I was on a dog walk. Then I walk into my home and he tells me I'm breaking up. My old 3G always had 5 bars throughout the entire house, never a problem with reception where I live. I'm also having problems with Faces freezing the receiver's screen with a photo of my face when I switch to the rear camera. Ugh.
I'm sure they'll get this stuff sorted with an update.
Apple. Please listen to this. We're not making it up....oh, and I have yellow spots, hoping it will go away on its own.
