Oops! Set up new iPhone as new phone instead of backing up

I think it may be too late, but anyway: I set up my new iPhone 4 as a new phone, since it IS a new phone. I should have used the Backup from my old 3Gs instead. Is there any way to reverse this? Mainly I'm concerned about text messages; my Contacts, Calendar and Email are all synced with Google and are fine. Photos/Music/Apps all okay, too. Thanks to anyone with a suggestion.

Thanks, yes the old backup is there. However, when my new iPhone 4 is connected, iTunes only gives me two options: Backup (in which it just backs up the phone) and Restore, which only restores factory settings. There's no option to back up from the old version. Any ideas?

I'm not 100% sure, but on the left column of itunes, where you click to "disconnect" the iphone/ipod/etc., if you right click on that while the phone is plugged in, don't you get a chance to "Restore from" and then pick the proper restore (if you have more than one iphone on the itunes)?

Restore to factory defaults, which is somewhat of a pain and takes time because your computer will download OS4.

After that, the phone will be in the same state it arrived in. Then the option to restore from back up will present itself. You may need to disconnect and reconnect after the restore to factory defaults, I forget what exactly happened when I did mine.
