My 'home' button just suddenly stopped working. I upgraded to iOS4 wednesday evening at roughly 9.00pm, all seemed fine then at 4.30pm on thursday the home button ceased to function. I could not get out of the ipod without having to use the power button. I had to restart the phone to get back to the home screen, launch anything and I can't quit or get out without a restart. I Did reinstall to factory presets and stuff.... nothing. The 'home' button doesn't function at all. The phone is about two months old. Not a mark on it. In fact it's hardly been used. NOT IMPRESSED.

take it back to where you purchased your iphone and have them take a look at it.

My HOME button has not only stopped working, my phone does not register as being charged when I plug it in! No little lightning bolt. When I plug it into my computer to back up settings (was going to reset) it doesn't even register as being plugged in!!
It is getting worse every day since I updated. At first it was just running slower, then home button stopped, today I can only make/receive calls using my bluetooth!!! It hasn't been dropped. I take VERY good care of it.
I did not update my daughters iphone and hers is working fine!!
Has anyone had theres fixed or spoken with an Apple rep yet?

Bring it into an Apple store and see if they can get it fixed for you.

If you don't have Apple Care or the 1 year warranty on your iPhone. You might be out of luck.

You can try and restoring your iPhone and see if that works.
    Don't restore your backup.

Sent phone back to Carphone Warehouse. They sent it back to Apple. I got a new phone within 2 weeks.
