iPhone 4 not vibrating at all

So my phone isn't vibrating at all for calls or sms on either loud or silent. Vibrate is enabled in settings for both. Am I doing something wrong here? Any suggestions? How long do we think it will be before I can get a replacement?

Same problem here but I cannot seem to fix it. The motor stopped vibrating the other day and I noticed when I'd begun missing calls. I hear the clicking (more of a ticking... like a wristwatch) that you guys are talking about. I can't seem to get it unstuck though. I've hit the phone in the top-right corner numerous times but don't want to break the thing.

Any other tips? I really don't want to exchange the phone...

hi, JBULLFROGDOTCOM,
I am experiencing the exact same problem as yours.
After I run the iBrate app, and tap and shake the phone really hard multiple times,
I only get very weak vibration. as soon as i turn off the iBrate app, I can't get the phone to vibrate again under normal usage. And each time i run the iBrate again, i need to tap/shake/slam the phone to get that weak vibration again.
I am wondering how this can be solved?

A big thanks to mrshinyteeth!

Had the same problem: My iPhone 4 stopped vibrating a few days ago which made me really wooried. I took the steps as proposed and it works again!

Cheers mate! You saved the day!

So my iPhone just stopped vibrating and looked here for some advice. Downloading the ibrate app and tapping my phone on my knee fixed the problem.. I couldn't believe that this would work but it did. You don't have to smack your phone hard, down load the app and enable the vibration. After that I tapped the phone on my knee and after about 15 seconds it started to vibrate again, thanks for the advice.

I have had a similar problem with the iPhone 4. I have the iPhone 4 with Verizon, and have experienced that when the iPhone vibrates, there is a slight dinging sound. However you can only hear it if the the room is quiet and the phone speakers are next to your ear. I had my iPhone replaced 5 times with this problem. Has anyone else had this? And is this normal? Also another problem I have had is that the stand-by/power button gets loose, so when you shake your phone to undo something or playing a game the button moves back a fourth I guess and makes a rattling noise. Is this normal?

my phone got coke poured on it last night, and submerged. It thought that it was attached to an accessory and the ear piece wouldn't work. bought a can of compressed air immediately and that problem got fixed, but this morning my vibration didn't work all the time, i could change it in the settings menu and it would occasionally vibrate.

Tried this fix and left it for a couple minutes and it seems to have worked. I don't if I have to do this every couple of days until July or August or whenever the new one is released

So my phone would randomly do this but it would eventually get fixed on it's own so didn't really think much of it honestly. I just thought it was some sort of software glitch. I finally decided to google to see if any one else had the same issue and why it was happening.

So glad I found this post b/c the fix worked perfectly for me! Had to do a bit more than tapping though. Had to shake the phone and simultaneously smack it with my palm but finally it vibrates again!!

Thank you!
