I just place an URL for a video into a Pages doc, made a PDF. The video linked in the PDF worked in the Preview app on my desktop computer. I sent the PDF to the GoodReader app on my iPad. Again the video link worked. I then sent the PDF to iBooks app. Once again the linked worked.

What app did you use to make the PDF? (TextEdit won't work, even if the file is a rich text coverted/printed to a PDF.)

Did you use a full URL address, http//: my_link.html?

I'm a little confused, you say you made the PDF with mpeg 4 content. The only program I know of for embedding videos into a PDF is Adobe Acrobat Professional. And that program isn't cheap... I think it goes for $400 or so.

I hope your see this message.

I have something very similar to do. I have power point slides and each slides give the user the ability to click on the action button to display a video clip. I converted this to a PDF file with action buttons and have tested this in Acrobate and it works.

I would like to display this pdf file on a iPad 2. I read from your posting above that you used GoodReader App. I have e-mail GoodReader and they said that hyperlinks are not support in Good Reader. Then you got it to work.

The hyperlink on my action button is using my C: drive as source. What do you suggest for me to change it to. I can change the action buttons in the pdf file to anything I want and if you can tell me what to change it to would help me.

I am willing to transfer all of the video files to a given folder on the iPad if that would help.

I am really new to iPad, but very knowledgable on the PC side.

Your help is deeply appreciated.

Thank You

Gary
