Can't hear outgoing call 'ringing'

On some of our new iPhone 4's you cannot hear the phone 'ringing' when making an outgoing call. You only hear the person pick up on the other end. However, you do hear the ringing when you turn on the speaker phone.

iPhone 4, iOS 4, 16Gig model

That must be software problems if the speaker works. Contact Apple and they might notice it and get it fixed for the new version.

I just got the new iphone4 today and also can't hear any outgoing call ring. Very annoying. I'm going back to Apple tomorrow to find out how to fix it!

I have the same problem, has anyone fixed this yet or perhaps I'll have to reinstall the firmware?

It's not an iPhone problem, or rather not a problem specifc to the iPhone.

It's how cell phones works... and sometimes land line phones.

If it is consistent, you may have a problem. But I have found that randomly I experience the same thing, it is nothing more than a "network" issue at that point in time.
