I have exactly the same problem, on my iphone 3G is now a 'calendar' which is empty. I did not create this calendar it just appear but all the other calendars which I have in my iphone and iCal (iMac Intel) dissapeared, vanished!!

I have tried
disconnect iphone from iMac,reset iSync history on my iMac,
restart iMac, backup all my calendars on my iCal,
delete all calendars on iCal , import back into iCal from backups,
launch itunes, synchronized iPhone ( for calendar on iMac iCal to replace calendar in iPhone)
Nothing, the same , nothing came over from iCal.

Where is the solution ? hopefully that Apple would have more time to look into this iCal iPhone calendar issue, now that they have come clean on the Antenna issue. Apple really do not need another problem Calendargate.

Hope Apple resolve this by this week, I have been spending sleepless hours late in the night, trying everything. Somehow, I think this is a problem with iOS4.0, 4.01

I just had the same problem, but was able to restore my calendar by doing the following:
-in iTunes, right-click on the phone (in left column)
- click "Restore from Backup"

Calendar was restored. So to be safe, I right-clicked the phone again to "Backup". Then I tried to sync. After syncing, calendar entries appeared on iPhone briefly, then disappeared. Don't know what changed in my syncing to make this happen, but at least I was able to restore. My calendars on my computer are old now, but at least I have them on my iPhone which is really the only place I care about, although I'd like to have them backed up on my computer.

Hope this helps and someone can figure out how to safely sync.

I have the same problem. I installed iOS 4.0 on my iPhone 3GS around the same time I started using a new iMac running OS 10.6.4. (I don't use Mobile Me.) My contacts synch ok, but the iCal events on the iMac overwrite the ones on the phone, even though I choose "merge" (not "replace") when given the option. I updated the iPhone to iOS 4.0.1 but this did not solve the problem. I'm lucky that the calendar still synchs with my old iMac which runs OS 10.4.11. But it would be nice to start using the iPhone with my new iMac. (Calling support was not much help - the iMac person said it was an iPhone issue, and the iPhone person said I'd have to to pay because my iPhone is no longer covered... but she did direct me to these discussions. Sounds like just a bug to be fixed - hopefully before too long?

Hi MBNN,

Do not Sync till the bug in iOS4.01 is fixed,

For the past 2 weeks , I have been living with an empty calender,
my life is upside down and I did not bother to use iPhone calendar anymore,
entering data reminded me of the many schedules and historical record lost,
frustrate me tremendously, I am delaying purchase of iPhone 4 which would start selling in Singapore
this Friday 30Jul 2010, I would only buy it when the iOS4.01 bug in calendar is fixed.

The emotional reminder of lost calendar is too great fo rme.

Have you seen how many views there are for this thread compared with the others? It's clearly a huge problem and Apple need to respond to it pronto.

I syncd after updating the software and it wiped my diary entries off my phone and won't sync my outlook calander. It also synced my contacts though my settings were for it not to do that.

This is obviously a BIG problem and I am not at all happy with the fact that Apple do not even seem to acknowlage it's existence...

If they had put out a warning about this when people started writing about it then I (and lord knows how many others) would not have ended up in the same boat....
I Sync with Outlook as a way of backing up the details on my Iphone and have now lost all my tour dates and flight info for the next two months :@

Come on Apple... Lets have someone from the company at least offer some sort of appology or better still a detailed explanation of a solution. I don't want to risk stuffing it up even more.
