Samsung ML-2525W Series - "Printer offline"

Just got a Samsung ML-2525W laser printer and have it connected via USB to my MacBook (OS X 10.6.4). First job prints fine but the second job fails to print, and the Print Queue indicates "printer offline".

If I unplug the printer and power it on again, the second job prints immediately.

Any suggestions? All software updates are installed, and I have already deleted and re-added the printer in Print & Fax Preferences.

Thanks!

You do not need to install the software to setup the wireless network.
I have connected the printer to the wired network, then installed the printer.
The printer will be found with Bonjour, so setting it up is a breeze.
After installation, you can use the Preference panel to open the printers webpage.
In that webpage, I chose the "Network Settings" tab, and with the "Wireless" button, I setup my network.
After setting it up I could detach the network cable, and my printer was available wirelessly.

Very good advice, but I would add to not forget and run the Network Wireless Wizard (bottom of the Wireless Setup Page) and be sure to add your password, if you're on a secure wireless network. At the end you'll hit APPLY and be prompted that your settings have been successfully applied... **BUT**...the next page you view says "Link: Not Connected". This is NOT TRUE...you are connected, and if you then unplug your ethernet cable the wireless will work just fine.

I had the same problem - the printer worked totally fine for a month, then after a longer pause while in europe (including some system updates...) i came back and the printer didn't work or only printed one page and i had to pull the cable and then the next. etc.

It is working NOW! I uninstalled the printer driver i had found somewhere and used the link that was posted in this thread and voila - i switched the printer in the prefs and it works now. wireless even 😉

thanks to all the people chiming in here!

Tried uninstalling and downloading and installing all new drivers and updates. Nothing!

Just Called them, The guy brought me to site to download the 2 october 5 driver updates which do nothing! And department is closed for the day so call back tomorrow with a case number. Yay... Not. Had problems with this printer on a windows P.C. trying to get it to go wireless, never got that working, and now this on the mac. They better have a solution to this tomorrow as this is the last time Im dealing with this crap!

Just curious: who did you call, and what drivers did you download and install? It's unclear from your post. I understand how frustrating it is if something's not working, i went through it too. The driver though from Apple (see my last post) did it for me - mine's working again.

PS> I've bought the printer 6 months ago and it worked right out of the box, only after some system updates did it stop - until i found the new driver.
