Activity Monitor

I know this has been discussed before but couldn't understand how fix the incorrect file permissions.
Can someone help.
My mac is slow to start up and has 10GB ram!

Mac Pro 2.8 Quad Core, Mac OS X (10.5.8), 10gb ram

What's the problem? AFAIK, Activity Monitor has no relationship to file permissions.

What has this to do with Activity Monitor, the Finder, or the Dock? I'm afraid you have posted an incoherent question and in the wrong forum.

Please frame a specific question and post it in the proper forum. This not it. You could post in the Mac Pro forum or Leopard -> Using Mac OS X Leopard.

How fast your computer starts is really not a matter of how much RAM you have.
