Strange new icon in iphone status bar nest to bluetooth icon

I have a new icon in my status bar to the left of bluetooth icon, is a small padlock enclose in a circle with an arrow at the end, it just showed up today.

If anybody knows what this new icon is any help would be appreciated.

I have a 3GS running iOS4
