LED Flash washing out photos

Plastic backing is not the only issue. I have a hard case (Speck) about an 1/8" thick with a fairly large cutout for the back camera and flash on my 4g. However, with the case on, I get washed out flash photos. If I remove the case, the photos are fine and clear. This really ***, because it's a very good case and I don't want to go without the protection. It is a tight fitting case that is not easily removed for a fast flash photo. So I guess I'm screwed. A focused flash would probably solve it, I'm getting the same effect with video, too.

I'm going to gently ream out the camera hole on an angle with a counter sink bit, maybe take out the reflection factor? I just hate messing with an expensive case... The issue is the flash itself which I don't believe Apple will change, so it's up to case makers to come up with a fix.

I bought an iFrogz case at AT & T just wanting some protection and I took it off after reading these comments and the flash is now fine. The blue of the top of the case was causing the color issue. Thanks to the earlier posters.

The glass back of the IP4 diffuses the flash laterally, reflecting off the edge of the case over the camera lens. A case with two separate holes, a small hole for the flash and another for the lens would probably solve this.

I have the same issue when the phone is in a case (2 different cases).
When I take the phone out of the case the pics come out beautifully, with the case on the phone they are washed out with a blue tint covering it.
Without the case the reception (or the lack of) is a problem, sigh.. with the case on the LED flash washes out the pictures..sigh sigh!!
I want to protect my shiny new phone with a case, but I don't think I want to take it out of the case each time I want to take a pic with the flash on !?
How can that be corrected???

I just received a brand new case design from a Hong Kong vendor and it solves the flash issue. It's the Para Collection for iPhone 4, got mine in blue. It's a hydrocarbon polymer jelly case, very nice, but less protection than my massive rubber-lined Speck case. The para also comes with front and rear screen (glass) protectors. All in all, besides solving the flash washout issue, it has a good feel and I like it. I won't link the vendor since I'm not endorsing anything for sales purposes. Just wanted to share that someone was paying attention. In MHO, the flash issue is now solved.

Im having the same issue, the flash is giving photos a bluish image and ruins the picture.

FYI - Remove the plastic from the back of phone which is covering your flash and lens.

lol, I removed mine and camera works fine.

I bought a case and it does the same thing. exspecially if the case is see through or a light color. just try adjusting the case or take it off during night pics.

OK, I reamed out the camera hole quite a bit, but to no avail. Light still reflects into the lens from the edge of the hole in the case. No joy. Bummer...

same problem with my incipio sylicrylic case, love the way it looks and fits but really blows that the flash doesnt work with it on,
