I installed Snow Leopard to connect iphone 4 with my old mac since I was running on an old operating system but my itunes still does not read my phone. What is wrong?
If you use the same cable and plug into the wall, does the phone charge? May be a bad cable or bad USB connection. I read on here about someone who had their cable plugged in 3/4 of the way to make the connection.
You are unplugging the USB from the computer right? Try that too.
Hey Guys... Sorry but i seem to be having the same issue. I've even just installed leopard os and still nothing. I installed itunes 9.2 and am currently running OS 10.5.8. Everything seems to be updated. When i plug my iPhone to iTunes, my phone charges but i iTunes doesn't read my phone. iPhoto does seem to read it tho. Please help!!
Me too, I have been trying all night to get my phone to work. I bought the Snow Leopard OS upgrading from the Tiger. I have installed the newest version of iTunes, I powered down the phone, restarted the computer several times.....So, 500 dollars later, It makes for a very expensive paper weight!! Help!! I would love to be able to actually USE my new phone!
I just had this exact same problem with my friends MacBook. Somewhere in the upgrade process from 10.4 to 10.5.8 or in upgrading iTunes through Software Update iTunes got screwed up. It would not recognize iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, or a regular iPod.
To fix it I trashed the iTunes app and emptied the trash. Then I downloaded iTunes 9.2 from apple's website and installed it fresh. This fixed all the problems.
