◊ Go into the Growl preferences in system preferences
◊ Uncheck +Display Growl Status in the menu bar+
◊ Uncheck +Start at Login+
◊ Stop Growl
◊ Click on Show All at the top of system preferences
◊ Right—click, choose +remove Growl+
