Sep 25, 2013 8:51 PM in response to Ejack3by Car_Bar,Im from Honduras, I've been having the exact same issue with my iPad Mini for a few weeks, No Apple store of course, just a reseller. So i took it there today, My iPad starting freaking out right in front of them so I didn't had to record a video or anything, and yes, they agreed its a hardware problem. Thankfully my iPad its still inside the 1 year warranty so they'll send it to an apple store in USA and I'll have a new one in about 2 weeks or so.
So yeah...im sorry to say that this problem is not fixable. Go to your nearest Apple Store or re-seller to get a new one.

Dec 18, 2013 8:47 PM in response to Ejack3by Dan Hudson,I had the same problem with my iPad mini. Turned off the Bluetooth and that seems to have solved the problem. I think it was picking up signals from either another device with Bluetooth in the house or one of my neighbors. Hope that was the problem. None of my other devices iPhone 5, iPod touch, iPad, or iPod 4s have the issue happen when the bluetooth is turned on. Just that iPad mini. Anyone know why that is the case?

Dec 24, 2013 2:29 PM in response to Dan Hudsonby Dan Hudson,Well that didn't fix it. Took it to the Apple Store and they were awesome. Swapped it out with a new one...no questions asked. Is definitely a hardware issue. Thanks Apple for standing behind your product. Another iPod Touch & iPad Air are under the tree to be in wrapped tomorrow. Fully invested. Ha.

Dec 25, 2013 6:39 AM in response to Dan Hudsonby Ngmoore,TRY TAKING OFF YOUR CASE.
My Mini started doing this typing weirdness today. Tried Reset and that made it worse. It's Christmas morning and no Apple store open so I'm in trouble for today at least. Found a posting about a tight case can sometimes cause this. I took off the Moshi case that I have used for months and SHAZAAM! No more typing craziness! How strange is that? Put the case back on and it's fine. I carry the mini in my purse and figure it must have gotten bumped in a weird way.
So that makes me wonder how many iPads has Apple replaced when all they needed to do was take the case off?

Dec 25, 2013 7:56 AM in response to Ngmooreby Dan Hudson,Maybe the case, but ours was doing it with the case off. Was even glitching in front of the Apple technician. It's a hardware issue. She even said so. I would get yours checked prior to the warranty expiring.

Jan 9, 2014 9:23 AM in response to Ejack3by Typer111,My ipad worked perfectly until I shattered the glass. I had it replaced but then it sometime had the "possessed" charateristics like repetitively typing the letter cccccccccccc. If I turned it upside down it typed a different letter so to me it is as though the glass is registering a finger pushing it when it is not.It also kept switching to a different program.

Feb 9, 2014 6:04 AM in response to Ejack3by myjet,I bought an ipad2 with a cracked glass on ebay, which I want to fix. When it arrived, it suffered from the "possessed" syndrome as well. Looking back at the item description, being somewhat evasive and emphasizing "as is" "no returns", they knew about the issue.
At any rate, I followed DVDKEV's post and reset the ipad. I had to do it twice; It didn't seem to work properly the first time, but it did the second, and so far, after 2 days, it has not acted up!
So Thank-you DVDKEV!

Mar 12, 2014 2:43 PM in response to DarkDwarfby soshine,You are awesome! "Bending" the iPad worked like a charm. Thanks for taking the time to post OVER 3 YEARS AGO.

Mar 13, 2014 3:52 AM in response to Ejack3by Typer111,Further to previous. My ipad acts "possessed" about once every two weeks. When it happens I double click the round "home" button. Then I close all the open programs by flicking them upwards. Then I turn off the Ipad completely and when it is switched on it works ok for a couple of weeks.

May 24, 2014 7:29 AM in response to Ejack3by Glendetta,This happened to my 3rd gen iPad & iPhone 5 at same time. Tried everything listed here then went to Apple store. They stated it was the display after paying over $300 for replacements, get home and the same thing happened. It was the charging cords I bought on eBay. Called them back to inform them to see if I could get some of my money back because they gave wrong diagnosis for problem, told me nothing they can do.

Jul 3, 2014 2:53 AM in response to Glendettaby caz2009,I have the same problem with my iPad mini. It has been working fine for 18 months and starting doing it a couple of days ago. I have tried the reset several times and it does not work. Will try the backup and reset now as 'bending' does not work either.

Aug 14, 2014 12:28 PM in response to Ejack3by Renato Silva,Wonder why this problem has not been solved yet. First post on this discussion is from 2010, I got my iPad 2 16GB Wifi in October 2012 in Dubai and it started moving and typing on its own JUST A MONTH AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED.
Took it to an authorized repair shop and found out the logic board / mother board was the problem and they recommended me just to scrap it and buy a new iPad - but how could I do it when it was just over a year old, used under very good care?
Wrote several times do Apple with no reply, hope they read this forum and work on a solution so none else gets it on future touch devices.

Aug 19, 2014 4:33 PM in response to Renato Silvaby LightningMike,I've got a 64gig iPad 4 with retina display. Its just over a year old, and recently this weird typing stuff started. It doesn't jump pages, but it does add letters between words forcing me to go back and correct all typing. It seems to happen in mail, safari, here in the support forum. I'm using an Apple folding case since new, this unit is scratch-free and has never been dropped. All corners are protected and i'm a retired senior, this iPad sits on a desk when its not in my lap, this case has a cover too.
I'm convinced its not hardware, its software. My hardware hasn't changed in 14 months but theres been a few iOS updates. I notice the same thing happening on my iPhone 4. Had it for a couple years and its only gone screwy the past 4-6 months? Unless aliens are shooting rays at our houses LOL, i really have to say its a iOS glitch, maybe one that apple won't/can't fix.
