Error Code 1712

While editing a menu in iDVD and after deleting a file which I thought was no longer required for a menu button (I changed button style to text, so mov file no longer seemed necessary), iDVD will no longer open and there was error message "The application iDVD.app can't be opened - 1712". I assume the 1712 is an error code.

I recreated a file with the same name as the one that I deleted (shared project from iMovie as Quicktime file and placed new file in my Movie folder). iDVD will still not open.

How do I resolve this problem?
