iMac second monitor issues - Acer P244W

I am running a 20" 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I recently hooked a second monitor up, an Acer P244W, and I can't get it to run at a decent resolution.
The highest resolution it is able to run is 1280 x 960, and it's incredibly stretched! If I set the resolution any higher, the screen will start to flicker and intermittently turn on and off.
When I run the computer in Bootcamp with Windows 7 the monitor is fine, so I know it's not a hardware issue.
Are there drivers I can download to solve this? I went to the Acer site, but no luck.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
