Does apple sell these or do the repair ? Googling suggests you have to get the whole bottom plate replaced which seems a bit over the top. Note this is a late 2009, unibody MBP 13" not the earlier machine. These have the quite flat feet. It's really hard to get it to fit back in again.
You and me too! I use it every day. Store it in an STM sleeve. Cycle it too and from work. At home it is used on my lap. At work it is on a stand that doesn't contact the feet. I used it at work plugged into a large screen and usb keyboard. So not a lot of pushing backwards and forwards on a surface which is what I would imagine would cause trouble. I am travelling at the moment. Pulled it out of the sleeve and noticed the foot was still stuck to the bottom of machine but not where it should be. They are very difficult to fit back into the whole for them. I have 1 + 2 applecare so I will see if apple will fix it. The discussions I read on the net suggested that you cannot get that part but need to replace the whole base plate.
Had this issue on my MacBook Pro. Went to the Apple Store today and they said it wasn't covered. Which is weird. Shouldn't it be? I mean, it's a craftsmanship issue, right?
Seriously, AppleCare doesn't cover these? I have the same problem. First they would just push in from time to time (resulting in the laptop feeling uneven). Finally today one of them just came off. Anyone find replacements?
The feet - the small rubber piece - I had replaced in my Apple Care Service Provider, the same one that repaired my Mac two times before. I just dropped by, showed the missing spot and they glued a new one. Didn't even registered support at this time.
