Hi b4xsy, thanks for posting. but I do not use iPhone 4S. I use iPhone 4.

When you say "same problem", are you referring to the earlier posts or to the lastest post by me about losing battery fast when I sms but not losing it that fast when it is on standby??

Hope you reply soon. Thank you.

I'm having the same problem as b4xsy. I got my iphone4S a few days ago and watching the battery % drop is like watching a race. I can be half way through 1 text message and it's already -1%. I don't have as much problem when it's on standby; my phone drains less than 0.5%/hour. I was wondering if my battery life while acutally using the phone is normal. It seems a bit extreme how an sending an email can drop my battery by 2%

Hi ns22, do me a fava mate go into you mail setting and turn primary server mail account off for half an hour and see if it improves your battery life

Hi b4xsy, I actually did a complete restore of my phone and that seems to have solved the problem. My battery isn't ticking away like a clock anymore. ThAnk you for your suggestion though. :)

Just got my iPhone 4S yesterday.  Plugged into iTunes and updated the iOS, restored backup from my 3GS.  Battery would drop 50% in 3 hours.  Deleted my Exchange account and manually set it up again and the battery seems to be doing just fine now.  Has only dropped 5% in 4 hours with a couple of phone calls, wireless connection and checking e-mail.  Thanks for posting the fix!

    Hi b4xsy,

    Hi b4xsy,

My service provider did say that my network is fine- she claimed to have checked. She also said many iPhone customers of my service provider has complained to them about battery woes. She says Apple told them they are working on it,but I personally have doubts on what they are doing.

What a disappointment Apple is. They are not performing as well as they ought to be.

Hi Mate, i kind of worked on a control over my battery life its defo email problems so i set my emails to come to icloud manuely and now my battery last a full day, your right apple needs to pull there finger out and fix the problem......

Hi b4xsy, thak you for replying. In response to what you said:

    - I do NOT use my iPhone 4 to check any email in the first place. I have no email accounts set up. So that cannot be the problem.

-what was your previous email settings??

-You must be using iOS 5. I am using iOS 4.3.5

-Just to let you know, I got my iPhone replaced twice already, First time in September due to the glitch where under Settings->General->Usage, my "Usage" and "Standby" time showed as the same timing even when I do not use my phone, and the battery was draining. Did you by any chance read about that in the other message threads regarding this on this Apple Support Communities??

the 2nd time was in late October when my battery drained overnight e.g. from 44% to 15%. It was also dropping fast when I sms or do other stuff on the phone. Although that still happens now, thankfully that does not happen on standby. very irritating.

-Thank you for agreeing with me that Apple is underperforming. I don't understand why there are people who love their products so much.

I look forward to your response on this.

    Thanks :-)

Hi mate, no i didn't get to read that sorry. i used Gmail off the iPhone but scrubbed that now and use icloud seems ok only drops 5% every hour now and that's using most things on the phone i forgot to mention i bought a new charger and lead just incase that was the problem version on my phone at the moment is 5.0.1(9A405) firmware 1.0.13 and is the 4 s...... wish i kept the iPhone 4 now as i had no problems with that one.

    Hi b4xsy,

I do not know how to use iCloud because iOS 4.3.5 does not use that.

You are lucky not to have any problems on iPhone 4, I think a good mumber of users on this Apple Support communities have problems with iPhone 4.

    I have questions:

1)What is "most things" you are referring to in the sentence "....drops 5% every hour now and that's using most things on the phone"

    2)what is lead?

3)Do you think iOS 4.3.5 or iOS 5 is better?

I hope to get to hear from you again soon about these iPhone issues. I will not be home from Sunday 4th Dec to Friday(according to Southeast Asia time, just in case you happen to be in USA or in a country where the timezone is totally different. Currently it is Friday night here). I won't be using the computer during that week. So I do hope I will get to hear from you before I go off.

    Thanks again :-)

Well, DUH! Why would they be on the support forum if they weren't having problems? The iPhone 4 users who don't have problems don't post messages on the forum; they just enjoy their iPhones.
