There doesn't seem to be anything but a drastic solution to this problem. Man that sound *** I want it gone. Seriously everything on the iphone seems to be a workaround of some kind.

If you want a phone that is highly customizable, the iPhone is not the phone for you. Offering lots of UI choices has never really been Apple's way.

All of you all are so silly, pathetic, ********, take your pick.

I like the confirmation of knowing that my texts have been sent. The majority of people do not mind this, or if they do, then they are fine with putting it on silent.

If you are that upset with the iPhone for the whoop sound, GET A DIFFERENT PHONE. The most you can do is report this to Apple, but stop all your whining. And yes, it has gone beyond voicing your opinion, and moved into the complaining phase.

i would argue that there is a consistency issue. the iphone is decently flexible in other areas. why would some sounds be customizable and others not?

it's been annoying users for at least seven years, maybe apple would alter it by now?

It has been annoying a to a few users, apparently not enough to make Apple rethink their design.

I was having a different issue on text messages. I have the sound on, and when you type a letter you typicaly here a click sound. When I type the first few letters clicked, but then the click would go away, then come back, then go away and sometimes the woosh sound on send disappeared. I finally figures out why and it had to do with mail settings on push. Odd, but true. Push was on, but I had not selected the duration when it should push. So, push was cycling every few seconds and that seemed to interrup the text click and woosh sound. Once I set Push to cycle manually (still leaving Push on), the clicking sound is there for every key stroke and the woosh happens with each message.

Check your mail settings for Push and see if this solves your problem.......
