Since having my new iPhone 4, when I launch the "front" camera, the shutter is shown on the screen and it freezes. Sometimes is takes 5-10 minutes to load my camera. Other times it's very fuzzy and takes terrible quality pictures. Ive reset my phone through iTunes hoping this would solve the problem, but it hasn't. Does anyone else have this type of problem?
Yes. I am setting up a Genius Bar appointment to have it looked at. One other thing to note. If you do not press the camera button, it will attempt to take a photo and freeze as well. It may be a defective build since it is random. Will post back after leaving the store.
I just got back from the apple store...No one even took a look at my phone. They automatically replaced it at no charge. I asked about getting a bumper to help fix the reception but they were all sold out! Now Im having a problem loading face time! One problem after another.
I had the same problem right out of the box. The camera on my iPhone 4 would do the following.
1. Stutter and freeze on a frame for a few seconds and resume.
2. Freeze altogether on a frame.
3. Freeze when taking a shot (where the virtual aperture graphic is in the closed position)
4. In video mode, the camera would exhibit all of these symptoms, too. I shot a 5 minute video and it stuttered several times, including an occasional freeze of magenta (purple-pink) lines going across the screen.
I brought my iPhone to the local Apple Store. The Genius told me it could be a software issue, so she did a factory restore. Afterwards, I played around with the camera at the store and the exact same problems manifested. When I showed her, she gladly replaced my iPhone with a new one and so far, the camera works just fine.
I'm not an expert at this problem but wanted to share my experiences... in my case, it was a hardware issue, not a software issue.
Same problem... there is a video around that says to cover the front camera so the software doesn't get confused, so I tried and it worked first time around, then some pink stripes showed and crashed. The camera never worked again...
my front camera doesn't work. when I swap main camera to the front one, it simply freezes. It didn't work with a facetime call... Seems to be a hardware error...
