Does your iphone 4 rattle?

Yes! I't wont do any harm, I actually expect to hear that sound from the camera because then i know for sure that it's an actual autofocusing unit installed and not some software 😀

Got my new 4s 10 days ago and it rattled when tapping near the camera or putting it down gently on its back like everyone's saying, soon as I got it out the box. Now I've got round to it, I sent the iPhone back to vodafone and they sent me a brand new one in replacement the same day. Unfortunately the new one does it too!! I tried it on 3 friends 4's and they rattle so even though it feels a bit tack after my 3GS (not doing it), I'm happy.

Yes, I have an Iphone 4s and there is a noticable rattle when I tap around the camera or lay it down on a desk. I am afraid to get it exchanged for a refirbished phone because otherwise this phone works perfectly. I think I will just live with it. Seems a little flimsy though, I guess I have to just try and ignore it.

I have it for quite a while now and the overall performance of this phone is simply put amazing...the rattle continues,but there is no drop in performance and maybe this is how it is..but then why the **** Apple don't say anything about this rattle?I mean is nothing wrong with the phone and I will not take it in the service for that but shouldn't they make an official statement about this rattle if so many people have it??

The 3GS did have the rattle, just more quietly, do a search... 😉

I had the 3G for about 20 month and I didn't noticed...and I have friends with the 3GS and they didn't noticed either...but who knows maybe...all I hope is that this rattle on my 4S won't be a problem really

My iPhone 4 rattles in the bottom left corner near the microphone when it vibrates. It's annoying.

I had a white 4s and swapped it out due to battery issue. The white did not do this. The new black I got does and they tried telling me it's the camera shutter. I plan on going back to have them swap again. My white 4s did not have a rattle at all.

My white iPhone 4S rattles around the back camera area. Recently it started producing blurry photos (stuck in macro mode I think). When I shake the phone to produce the rattle it often times corrects the blurry camera. This is a big problem.

that's by all means a big problem..mine rattles but the quality of the photo's are the same..I only wish Apple would make an official statement about this issue

i bought mine 2 and a half weeks ago. i had to replace it within 3 days as when i was making a call the volume kept dipping in and out. one week later i got another replacement as all the apps continued to freeze and got worse. then with that replacement i noticed the rattle. i did notice it on all my friends phones but mine seemed a lot worse. it sounds like a rattle toy. just is just two days after getting a replacement.

so.. i called up this morning and was going to get this sorted once and for all. i was pretty angry about the whole situation but the people at apple are so nice i just couldnt. they claimed that because it wasn't affecting the software i couldnt get a replacement, to which i replied i have just paid 500 pounds for a phone which soudns liek a childs toy. a continued to exlpain 2 days before i drove 100 miles to store to get a replacement and the day after (yesterday) to manchester, england, another 70 miles to wear i live to get it fixed. they tighten up the antenna screw and it still sounds the same.

apple then said i could have a replacement. i told them i refused to drive another 70 miles to replace it and being a student couldtn afford the deposit for an express delivery replacement. then after 40 minutes on the phone, the have said they will send me a brand new phone. then i have ten days t send my current one back and if not they have my card details to charge me if i don't. but unless i have a son within the next 2 weeks who needs a rattle to play with, it will be going back. if the new one comes with a rattle, which i expect it too a little, i have gone through too much stress to care anymore!

Guys, try this and you will recognise that the rattle is from the camera:

Go to the camera app and hit gently the back of the phone where the camera is. It makes a type of sound. Now change the focus (focus somewhere else) and you will notice, that the sound is different. Tadaaa 😀

By the way I have the same issue. Not good Apple, not good...

I'm having the same problem. I dont use a case. But It seems to rattle near the silent switch.
