Uninstalling rEFIt

In the past, I used to have Windows installed on my Mac. The startup utility I used to boot Windows without holding the 'C' button was rEFIt.

Now that I needn't have rEFIt installed on my Mac, I'm wondering how to uninstall it.

I have 2 doubts:

1) Where is rEFIt's folder ubicated? Will my Mac no longer boot if I simply delete it?

2) Does Time Machine hold the startup too? If the answer is positive, that would be a disaster.. because if I recovered from a Time Machine backup, rEFIt would get re-installed.

Can you help me?
