Problem with FCP with my new Betacam SP

HI, ill try to make this as simple as possible..

I have a new (used) SONY betacam SP UV 1800 and im having issues with the input true my KONA LHI Capture card and FCP.

Using component and XLR outputs of the beta in my KONA with 525 29.97 10 Bit settings in FCP it has little horizontal lines in the log and capture preview
When I capture it, I looks the same as in the preview. When I try to play it back in FCP. The image is mostly gone with only red and blue colors.
Even weirder, if I use quicktime it look the same as in the preview...

Any ideas ?

Well to be clear, BetaSP is an analog format, it is neither 8 or 10 bit coming from a 1800.

So, you only see little horizontal lines when in Log & Capture and Red and Blue images in FCP.
Sounds like your Y (luminance) cable is faulty or you have the Y, R-Y & B-Y crossed.

There is no advantage to capturing BetaSP at 10-bit unless you are combining those clips with true 10-bit source material in a 10-bit sequence. The quality will be the same at 8-bit or Apple Pro Res but take up a LOT less drive space.
