Is there a way to revert to the old email style?

I have several email accounts loaded. The new setup shows me everything twice. Why? Then, it also rolls everything up into one. Why? They are separate email accounts for a reason.

So now when I open my email instead of seeing:
email1: 5
email2: <blank>
email3: <blank>

I see
all: 5
inbox1: 5
inbox2: <blank>
inbox3:<blank>

email1: 5
email2: <blank>
email3: <blank>

This is seriously stupid. Do the developers or the development managers not think things through? Why would I need to see every mailbox twice?
I'm sure there are those who will love this new design for some reason, but please, let those of us who find it stupid and useless revert back to the old way.

You now see:
Inboxes
All inboxes
account1 inbox
account2 inbox
account3 inbox

Accounts
account1>see all folders(inbox,sent,trash etc)
account2>see all folders(inbox,sent,trash etc)
account3>see all folders(inbox,sent,trash etc)

It is not showing everything twice. It shows inboxes and then accounts(like the old). Some people just want to go into certain inboxes of certain accounts quickly. Others might go into the account to see their inbox sent trash folders.

The all inbox feature is great. No longer do you need to to exit one account to go into another to see a new email. They are all there. If you prefer not seeing an email from a friend next to a business email then you could always go to the individual inboxes.

Yes, it is showing everything twice. My example and your duplication of my example show that.

They're separate email accounts for a reason.

I'm glad you like it. All I'm asking for here is some user configuration settings. That really shouldn't be too much to ask.

I don't see everything twice. On that page it shows inboxes for all or each individual account.

Then it shows the actual account to go see sent, drafts, trash,or inbox

"Account x inbox" is different from just "account x"

I have no idea how you think
account1
account2
account3

account1
account2
account3

isn't duplicating information. I don't have unread emails anywhere but the inbox, so the numbers are always going to be the same. Maybe you do. We're not all you. We're not all me. It makes no sense to assume that we all work the same way. Giving the users a way to configure the apps is pretty obvious. Anyone who doesn't understand that shouldn't be developing software.

Another example is that they're forcing the Notes app to exchange the data with my email accounts instead of leaving it on the iPod, where I want it. It's picking an email account at random from my three listed accounts, and I have no configuration options to tell which account to use, or, to use none of them at all. The constant synchronization over the wifi is making the app unusable. Do you see why configuration is necessary?

It will say...Yes i know the unread email number will be the same
account1
account2--->>these link to inside inboxes
account3

account1
account2--->>these link to a new screen for inbox, sent, drafts, trash folders.
account3

These are different. Two different links. Yes you could go to inbox the 2nd way or into inbox immediately with the first set.

Why cant we delete from these inboxes? And where are they archived? Why always take the pain to go inside 'All Mails' (in case of Gmail) to delete a mail. Also, when we select 'All Mails', we actually have to wait for the email to sync and then delete it..seems something messed up in their Unibox design.

It's the weird way iOS 4 does threading in email now. They don't show all the threads in a single email the way you expect it (the way it's done in gmail on a browser). Instead, it now acts like a folder which holds all of the emails in the thread. When you think you're opening up a multi-threaded email, you're opening this folder which lists each thread separately. If you open any of those, you then get the full access to actions like delete and forward.

This actually isn't a bad way of handling it, you just need to understand how it works and get used to it.

I'm sorry, you're right. That's brain-dead stupid. If I'm in a non-threaded email in any of the inboxes, I can see the trashcan, but when I click on it, it doesn't say Delete, it says Archive. When I click on that, it looks like it's deleting, but when I switch to the All folder, there it is (after the refresh), and I can delete from there. The more I use ios 4, the more I think these people should be fired.

I found the fix to this issue.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>{account name}

Then set Archive Messages to Off

and you will once again be able to actually delete emails from your inboxes.

Stupid stupid settings...

I found the solution to the Note app too:
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>{account name}

Turn off Notes
and it will now disappear from the list in the app.

Now, if I could just figure out how to get rid of the stupid listing of the Inboxes in my mail account list, or at least move them below the accounts so they're out of my way...
