iPad + Canon 5D: import problem

Hi,

I have tried everything to import photos from my Canon 5D to the ipad using the connector kit but nothing happen! I have tried with another camera and the same card and it was working perfectly find.

DO you know the trick ? Is there anybody that already succeed with an canon 5d? If yes how ? Which position do you use ?

Thanks in advance for your help !

I am a little confused as to what works and what doesn't work.

- Have you tried both using the storage card from the Canon and connecting the Canon to the iPad using the camera connection kit (CCK)? If connecting the Canon via the CCK did you have the controls for the Canon set properly? Was the Canon fully or almost fully charged? Did you get an error message on the iPad?

- What other camera worked successfully?

In order for the CCK to worked the file system on the card/camera has to be formated in FAT 16 or 32, the photos and video fils have to be of a formate supported by the iPad, and the files have to be a folder titled "DCIM" in the rood director.

No special position of the iPad is required when using the CCK.

I have the same problem with my 5d mark 2 and i'm using a Sandisk extreme 3 8GB card. Strangely if i delete all the photos on the camera and connect via USB, the ipad would recognise it but says there is no photo to import. If there are files either jpgs or raw in the camera the ipad would only recognise it for a split second. I can see the camera tab in the photo app flashes then disappear completely.

FYI it works perfectly with my canon s90 (via USB as well).

Device is 64GB 3G ipad running 3.2.1

I just got the cck to use with my canon 5d's mark2 and like others here took some shots plugged it in a nothing. With no images on the card says nothing to import so I knew it was connectred ok.
Dont ask me why but i tried removing the cck from the docking socket then reconnected it and hey presto it works.
retested and does this every time i do an import i cant do another without disconnecting then reconnecting !..
Dont know why some say its slow its seems quick enough to me. Hope this helps.
