My iPhone 4 Will Not Sync to iTunes.

My iPhone 4 will not sync to my iTunes. I plug it in and it'll charge, but my iTunes will not detect it. Any help?

I am at my WITS end with my Apple Mac/iTunes/iPhone!!! I have spent more hours that I can count trying to get my iPhone to appear in iTunes on the Mac that we bought SO THAT WE COULD USE iTunes successfully - we never had any luck on our pc with iTunes as my itl file kept disappearing continually!

We bought a Mac so that we could use our iPhones with it - so this has cost us a fortune (!!!!!!!) - and now I am being bounced around the help-desks at Apple - all they are giving me are links that I have already told them I have visited and haven't worked for me! I am running Leopard 10.5.8, latest iTunes and iPhone 3g with iso4. Everything is working okay - except iTunes will not recognise the iPhone. I have read many threads on forums where reinstalling doesn't fix this problem either. I even did a clean install of the Mac in case there were issues there!!!

I can honestly say I have tried everything to get this to work...

Please, please, please can someone help me????

Check the "import" function. You import files/songs into itunes.
And don't auto sync, otherwise, iTunes will replace all iPhone existing songs.
I've suffered loss of all my iPhone music files. It's so upsetting.
Besides what mentioned above, i like to share you a page about [iPhone Transfer Backup Reviews|http://www.softwarebbs.com/wiki/IPhone Transfer_SoftwareReviews], which included transferring iPhone contents to computer/iTunes.
Hope it can do you a favor.

My wife bought a new iPhone 4 today to replace her iPhone 3. No sync, no charge. Went to the (cr)apple website and tried their troubleshooting tips. No joy. I even tried sync it to my macbook pro and had the same result. Latest version of iTunes, etc.

One issue someone mentioned online was that the phone needs a good charge. Battery indicator shows 3/4 charge but we thought, sure, plug it in the wall and see what happens. Well, 1 hour later on the iPad charger (high speed charger) and it still doesn't have a full charge. I think I have a brick. Ready to throw it through the (cr)apple store window seeing as no one has been helped in this thread and there appear to be no solutions online.

Way to go (cr)apple!

spent 5 hours today as itune 10.4 and 10.4.1 disabled charging, syncing, and usb recofgnition of my iphone 4. Was in 4.3.2 fine until itunes upgrade. Phone was put in DFU mode when trying to restore as thought non charging was phone firmware problem. Now after 3 hiurs of trying to get it out of dfu and restored to 4.3.5 the issue is worse. went to apple and they said "sorry you have a hardware problem, want a new phone for $199". are you kidding me?! I pay $400 for this, have had it replaced twice due to malfunction and now due to a itunes upgrade i need to pay $199!!! what a bunch of crap and as everyone points out NO SUPPORT FROM APPLE ON THIS ISSUE! Thanks Apple for gracing us with your wonderful global dominant company, but when all we want is the crap to work you leave us hanging with your hand out for more $$$. Great!

Ok so I couldn't sync my iPhone 4s to my iTunes because i kept getting the "Mobile device has not been started" and I found this website which fixed my problem in 3mins. No uninstalling, no calling apple and no pulling my hair out. Try it out cus it rocks.
