Slow Startup, 2min stuck at blue screen!

Hi,

My startup takes a long time. Everytime when it loads until the blue screen, it will freeze for at least 2min.

I have tried all the following:

1. Reset PRAM
2. Fixed permissions ( and also I used Onyx to do everything I could )
3. Reinstall 10.6 from the upgrade disc I've got, and upgraded to 10.6.4
4. Clear all my login items

Here is my log when starting up:

I researched and found that MenuCracker is kind of a problem. But from this log, I think the main problem that lasts for 2min or so is not about MenuCracker. I have also tried starting up without it. But everything does not help!

I don't really want to clear everything in my hard disk and reinstall everything again. 😟

HELP is appreciated!
Thanks!

Thanks baltwo. But it doesn't solve the problem yet. I have updated Virtualbox, and still, it takes 2min.

I have similar startup issues since I upgraded to 10.6.4.
Called up the support and we already tried PRAM reset, safe boot and still spinning beach balls upon start up. The support guy got another expert to login as root to disable all starup options and clean up user cache, but the call got disconnected(hangup??)

Nevertheless disappointed that Apple would push out such major disrupting changes in a point release.

Anyone know how can I enable a root user and clean up users cache/start up items etc?

Cheers

Hi, Thank you for your answer. Just one quick question. I realize that from the log, the process that takes the longest time is not virtualbox, are you sure that getting rid of it will help?

Just want to make sure, because i have some stuffs in my virtualbox ( linux ), and dont want to get rid of it unless necessary.

Thanks!
