Canon Optura 40

I've got a lot of MiniDV tapes and would like to download them to iMovie, but neither USB nor Firewire seem to work. I checked the supported camcorder list, but no luck. I would really like to digitally download my tapes instead of using the composite video output to get the highest quality possible. Anyone have any ideas how to do this? And preferably as inexpensively as possible! 🙂
