I'm having issues with muffled sound when I talk using a bluetooth headset. Not just the Plantronics 925; I completely cannot use a Motorola H375, and a Jawbone Icon I just bought, I can use most of the time if I turn it on and have it connected to the phone before I make or receive a call. If I turn it on in the middle of a call, the sound quality is very muffled.

I've noticed that there seem to be inconsistencies with which headsets work well for people and which don't. For example, I read one person that said they had problems with a couple of bluetooth headsets but that their Plantronics 925 was one headset that worked perfectly fine. So.... I don't know, but I sure hope it's fixed soon!

Funny enough. I have 925 and ip4 (and 3gs) and I have similar issues with both iPhones. And not just iPhones, I previously owned nokia n97 and had some issues as well. Nothing major, but when I call to places like customer services or other public numbers they can barely understand me (it could be partly caused by my bad accent :P) but when I need to spell something it is impossible for them to understand what I'm saying.

However though, whenever I call my girlfriend (ip3gs) she can hear me perfectly fine with crisp sound and very loud.

It sounds strange, but this is what happens, and not only with iPhone 4... :/ Don't know, but def nothing to do with the "antenna problem".

I used this same headset on the 3gs for the lat year without one problem...also i used the headset on ios4 for the two days before the ip4 release and i had no problems at all! Now on ip4 since the 24th and i have the same issue as some here. The person i call either says they cant hear me or im very muffled? My bluetooth through my land rover is perfect....very strange? They must have changed something in the protocol? Would really NOT like to have to purchase another headset but it looks inevitable at the moment! Apples customer realtions cant even deal with a legitimate engineering oversight on the antenna let alone support infinitely various forms of bluetooth protocol..........

I'm also having issues with my Plantronics 925 and iPhone 4. Sound is muffled, garbled, far away, etc. Called Apple Support, and we went through a number of things, including resetting my network settings, and then re-opening WiFi and re-pairing my headset. After all that, it sounds somewhat better. Am considering ordering the Plantronics Discovery 975 and seeing if it works better (can return to Amazon if it's about the same). Apple support didn't give me any sense of "we know this is a problem and we're working on it", it was more like "it's your headset, try a different one".

I Have Same problem as all above posts. This seems it is Not a hardware problem. It seems it is a software problem with OS4. Spoke to head supervisor at Apple today. he went through all above posts with me to confirm that this is indeed a problem. He called me on iPhone with bluetooth and confirmed the muffle. I then called him back and he confirmed operation was normal. He claims he is consulting with powers that be to fix software. I tried four different bluetooth headsets and all had same problems with iPhone 4. Complaint is: Muffled audio on most Incomming calles, my audio normal, most Outgoing calls normal, Stereo bluetooth opeation poor range and audio quality, bluetooth pairing cuts in and out on iPhone with headset.

OK, I just got off the phone with Apple tech support. Are you ready for this... "Buy a new bluetooth headset." Yep, that was their recommendation. It must be the Plantronics 925 that *****. The rep went on to tell me that they only deal with bluetooth pairing. Once paired, the issue lies with the bluetooth headset manufacturers.

Do some research, there are several brand new headsets that a reporting similar sound & connection issues with the iPhone 4. Some older headset are working fine. There's definitely some fuzzy math happening here.

I have owned the Plantronics 925 before and it was awesome. Unfortunately I lost it. I now have iPhone 4 and ordered a new 925. Anyone I talk to cannot hear me. I am so disappointed. I really want this to work. Add that to other minor problems with the iPhone 4 and I'm becoming pretty disappointed in it, too. I may just return it to the store and I get my old favorite phone!
