iPad and MiFi connectivity problems

Hi all,

I have a Wifi iPad, and iPhone 3GS and a Three Mifi, which I use in the UK.

The Mifi is a Huawei e5830 unit.

The iPhone works perfectly well with the Mifi. As expected when there is inactivity on the Mifi it turns off the wireless to conserve battery, but if the phone goes to sleep mode and the is reactivated, in a few seconds it reconnects with the Mifi and I can access the internet. Intially it shows as if it connecting via 3G and then the icon turns to the Airport bars.

The iPad is not as good. It shows constant connectivity to the Wifi (airport bars) even after period of inactivity or a sleep/wake cycle and then I have to turn wifi on and off on the iPad in order to reconnect properly.

This does not sound like the problem of the iPad not being able to reconnect to a wireless wifi after sleep, where you have to re-enter your password.

Does anyone else have a similar wifi problem?

BTW when at home, connected to my Netgear or Airport wireless networks the iPad works perfectly, all the time, it is just behaving badly with the Mifi.

Thanks
Nic
