iMovie Theme Music issue

Se issue here... Theme music doesn't play for my 3.5 minute video. It just stops and the rest is silence... Even though it shows on the timeline that it's there the whole way. I guess the only solution now, since projects font sync with iMovie (really???) is to make something 3.5 minutes long in GarageBand, add to iTunes, sync to phone, THEN add to timeline...


Seems a bit un-Apple if you ask me...

The 1.0.1 update didn't fix that for me. The green bar still extends all the way to the end of my clips even though the the theme music ends far earlier. Same thing with music added from the library.

To be honest, I think this was intentional, because if you saw that the green audio bar ended, you would be inclined to think you can add another song, which you can't do. I don't think it will be something that is changed until the ability to add multiple songs to a single project is introduced.

Yes, the "Music Track Bar" still extends all the way to the end, but it accurately plays back only its duration.

So if you have 3 minutes of video + a Theme music track, during preview it only plays music to the 60 seconds mark on your project.

I thought that was the original "issue" mentioned by the OP... :S Sorry I just don't see any difference in performance between 1.0 and 1.0.1. The song still plays out till it's done, with no music after. It also still shows the music track bar till the end of the project.

I'm having the same issue. The update didn't fix it either. I'm using the "playful" theme and need the song to go till about 1:30 and it stops around 1:05. If it's not possible, what's the name of the song and I'll download it and sync to my phone. With the timeline showing it throughout the video - it should play throughout the video. Being that it's only music and not singing would be easy to loop! I don't know lol I'm new to the Mac world and iMovie in general! PLEASE HELP! either a fix or the name of the "playful" theme song! THANKS IN ADVANCE

If I'm not mistaken, all Theme Songs are original Apple compositions, with the exception of the Modern Theme Song which is: Phoenix - 1901

Just choose any other Music track from your own library to go with your Video Project.

just to clarify, as we have in the previous posts, the theme songs are NOT supposed to go until the end of your video. the green music track will always go until the end of your video, but that does not mean the song lasts that long. you simply need to choose a song from your iPod that is longer than your video. you can't loop music or choose more than one song in iMovie at the moment.

Agreed...i think it's ridiculous that they show it going through the entire movie, and yet it stops at 60seconds. In that case, they should put in the App description " Only good for 60 second movie clips"!

Apple needs to fix this among other things with the release of the iPhone 4...But thats a completely different thread...and I wouldn't want to hijack this one!

Um, all songs don't stop at 60 seconds, just songs that are 60 seconds long. I easily created a 5 minute project with a 5 minute song. I don't understand what the big deal is. Sure, I would like iMovie to allow for more than one song, but Apple is obviously going for a quick mobile editing solution, and not a fully featured video editing suite. Theme songs included with CPU iLife applications have never been more than a minute or two long, so why would the iPhone version be any different?

This problem really bothered me today when doing my first 2 and a half minute clip. I can't understand whey on earth Apple wouldn't let their clips just loop until the movie is done. What's the big deal?? It's so annoying to be watching a clip that looks and sounds fantastic and then all of a sudden the music dies for the last half of my video, lame!! Surely, Apple can use their common sense and see how silly this is and let us loop the clip no? Would anyone know where I can leave them feedback about this issue? I can't see how they can't fix this. This is my only disappointment with iMovie for my iPhone so far 😟

Looks like the "Music Track Timing" is a bit skewed, when you scrub thru the timeline.
I guess I'll stick with playing it from beginning to end, when I want to preview my whole project.

The new 1.0.1 update, fixed my Music Track issue.
Since the Theme song is only 60 seconds, I accurately get 60 seconds on the Timeline and so does my exported video.

Well that *****...I liked that one. Is there anyway I can loop the song and if not any suggestions that are similar? Thanks for you help

Right, because we didn't pay for a song that should last the length of the theme in which it is contained...
