General Query: UDF & Region Free DVDs
I am not certain if this is the correct area to ask this, I just thought I'd find the place with the most clued up on video formats etc.
I have recently helped to create a DVD with a martial arts organization for public release. It is in DV PAL format as we are based in the UK. However, someone wishes to purchase a copy in the US. I have been asked to find out what the region of the disk is and all I can find out is the format (UDF) through properties on the computer.
With the information given, would anyone be able to tell me if our DVDs are region free? Or how can I find out. Would most dvd players have the facility to switch between PAL & NTSC?
The master copy was a TDK DVD -R, if this helps. I burnt the DVD in iDVD, I am not sure if there is a way to set a region format in there as the settings are not that advanced. I did not deal with the duplication company myself, so I am not aware of what settings they used or anything.
