I accidentaly deleted the desktop icon in the finder? I need to how to replace it. My files are still on my desktop screen and Mac HD, just the icon in Mac HD and the Finder are gone? Any help please?

Do you mean in the Finder window sidebar? If so, just open your home folder, identify your Desktop folder within it, and then drag that folder to the sidebar. You'll see a little green plus sign appear, at which point you can let it go and it will once again be in your sidebar.

When you write "in the Finder", do you mean on the "sidebar" of a Finder window? And what do you mean by "the icon in Mac HD and the Finder"? Are these two different places?

I can think of two ways to restore the Desktop icon to the Finder's sidebar: (a) Open Finder's preferences, select the "Sidebar" icon in the toolbar, then check "Desktop" under "Places". (b) In a Finder window click on your home folder in the sidebar. You should see "Desktop" in the main part of the window. Drag that to the "Places" part of the sidebar.
