iPhone 3G can't find ANY wireless network

Hello everyone,

My iPhone 3G can't find any wireless networks. Password protected or not, it can't see a single one. Any tips? I've tried the basics (re-starting phone, turning wireless off and on, etc). Thanks so much.

RESULT, i tried everything, or so it seems, i now have WiFi back, and i think the trick was to unplug my router and then do a 'reset network settings' in the phones 'settings', giving it time to establish a normal phone network first, then i plugged the router back in and joined it, all works ok it seems.

I also did a full phone reset earlier, but synced it with i-tunes back to my phone backup.

so, not sure what did what, but a total phone reset (backup phone first)
reset by turning off i-phone, then hold down top button and home button for 10 secs, then release top button, holding home still till phone tells you to connect to i-tunes.

i-tunes detects the reset, so carry on with it and do a full restore.

all takes about 15 mins, (depends on your data i guess)

i got all my photos, messages everything back, and still on iS04.

unplug phone,
settings, reset network settings,
(unplug modem/router) and reboot phone, let it establish a normal connection (network connection), then when all is ok, plug in your modem/router, and add the network it picks up.
add the password and done, i have tried everything before this, but it seems to work, hope this helps more people out, let me know if it helps

good luck .

I can see NO wifi networks anywhere. And none of the solutions here worked for me. I don't think it's access point related.

Mini rant - I'm an apple fan, but I feel like for the last few years they haven't had their networking stuff together on any platform (maxosx or the iphone, airports). There have been tons of issues across multiple devices for lots of people. This really ticks me off. Get your act together apple!

iOS4 should have never been released on the 3G. Wife's phone running slowly and mine has lost it's ability to see/join any wifi access point. The dilemna is do I go through the trouble of resetting/reloading (which I've done on my 3G with no change in issues) or downgrade both
phones back to 3.1.3 which may fix the issues and lose any data changes back to the last iOS3 backup. I'm waiting it out right now, hoping Apple will generate a patch to fix. The clock is ticking Apple, I'm a customer of 20 years, a shareholder, and I'm out of my AT&T contract shortly. Please deal with this quickly to keep a long time customer loyal.

3G Owners do yourself a favor and stay on iOS 3. Apple, an official downgrade to 3.1.3 that allows
me to retain my data (ical, contacts, bento, etc..) would be GREAT. Actually, being able to backpedal
on any version release would be prudent for any upgrade!
