I just bought the iPhone 4 and took a few pictures that were geotagged in the right location. Perfect. But ever since I recorded a video (which got tagged too) the pictures I've taken since haven't been tagged in places... What am I doing wrong? Is there a place I can check the settings?????
Same here. I reset location warnings. Back into the camera app, it asked me for permission, I said yes you can geotag my photos. Took a photo. Not showing up on the places screen.
Do you need to sync back to iTunes to enable the places?

Same has been happening to me. I have found that after switching the phone off then back on again the pictures show up in places. I have found though that images edited in Photoshop or any other app such as Vint B&W have the exif data stripped and do not show up.
I got mine to show up in Places by re-syncing. It also cleared them up as they had been fuzzy & pixilated before the sync.
However, I'm really disappointed that the exif data doesn't contain the location information. I use to use my phone for scouting locations, but somewhere along the line the software was changed so it's no longer in the EXIF data. It WAS nice to be able to open the image in Lightroom and know where the image was made. Why did this feature disappear?
Hard Reboot!?
I was having the same problem. I just tried the hard reboot method and the pictures I just took and all previous ones showed up with the correct "Places" or geotag info. Was I lucky or is this a bug?
The answer to this is simply. Since iOS4.0 enables multitasking and app switching, geolocation info of a photo is cached in a freezed state when you exit the camera app. It therefore can't update the geolocation database in the Photo app. Thus in order for everything to work properly, make sure that you kill BOTH the Photo and Camera app when you exit the Camera app, by double clicking on the Home button to enter the multitasking bar. Then tap and hold any app icon until they jiggles THEN KILL BOTH THE CAMERA AND PHOTO APPS.
Exit the multitasking bar and relaunch Photo app and your new photo will be updated in the Places category.
