Hi, Denise,

This is a long shot but here's one other poster's solution:

http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2481952&tstart=-1

Another possibility would be to do a Restore from another computer, per Ingo's suggestion in this thread:

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2466144&tstart=120

Hope something there helps. Regards.

Error 21 could be pointing at a security software problem, keeping iTunes from contacting Apple.
Error 21 and -34: These errors occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. If you are using a PC, follow this article to resolve this issue http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125

Some other user solved error 21 by downloading a new copy of the software. To do this, look for the ipsw file located C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates. Delete the file, to make iTunes download a new one when you start the restore by connecting in recovery mode ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 )

Hi,

My ipod is now working! Thanks to those who helped, i would have been lost without your help.
For anyone else that has this problem, what worked for me was removing everything samsung, that solved the driver problem. the error 21 was solved by removing the update file in /users/your name/AppData/Roaming/AppleComputer/itunes/Ipod software updates and turning off my firewall.

Help, My ipod stuck in recovery mode after update!
