I use the built-in clock/alarm to wake me up and it has been going off an hour late lately - ever since the 4.0 update. On the screen it will read "Alarm 6:15" and the actual time (both in reality AND on the Touch itself) will read 7:15. I've checked all the time zone stuff and it did it again today. Anyone else had this problem?

Clock/alarm on iPhone 3gs does the similar thing after upgrade to iOS4. Alarm will go off either an hour earlier or later than it is set. The clock itself always displays the correct time.

I am having the same problem since I updated from iOS4.0.2 to iOS 4.1. The alarm has been late or early. Pre-existing alarms seem to have been going off late while the alarms created since the update have been going off early. I have two time zone clocks set, one for Eastern and one for Central. The iPod does display the correct time. I have found a way to correct this behavior temporarily at least. I power off the iPod Touch -- hold down the power button until the red Slide to Power Off slider comes up. When I power it back on, the alarms go off at the set times.

It has lapsed back to the offset alarms and I have not been able to trouble shoot it enough to figure out a cause. Powering off the iPod Touch corrected it.

    Hope it helps.

I'm also having this problem on my 2nd generation iPod Touch. Ever since updating from 4.02 to 4.1, my alarms have been going off an hour early. I notice everybody having this issue is living in Indiana. Perhaps the issue has something to do with our semi-recent (4-5 years ago) adoption of daylight saving time.

I am having the same problem. Ever since I upgraded, all my alarms go off one hour earlier. i use my alarms quite a bit throughout my day for my job and it is pretty frustrating to have them off. I have tried everything I know how to do. The strange thing is that if I set the alarm for a one time use and not repeat, it works fine. As soon as I assign it to go off on the weekdays it goes off an hour early. Any help?

As a point that may be of some help, I have determined that the alarm is early only when the alarm is set to repeat. I have found that all of the alarms that I have set to be repeating alarms go off an hour early. All of the alarms set to never repeat go off at the correct time.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

I also have the same problem after upgrading to 4.1(latest download) I have been using my built in alarm for 2 years now and it has worked flawlessly until this update I have done several restores of the system and still come up with the same problem. I'm currently in Iraq timezone (been here for two years) There is no daylight savings time here. The alarm clock is one of the most important features I use currently. I have done normal troubleshooting removed alarm changed date and time changed Time Zone restored etc
I dont use the wireless part and dont connect to computer except for upgrades to the software. After recreating the alarm it goes off 1 hour later than the time set.
This is obviously a bug in the operating system. Hopefully Apple will fix this soon.

i forgot to mention, now it's going off an hour early. I still have no idea why - tried deleting and recreating alarms, changing time zones, etc. I'd hate to have to move from Indiana just to get my alarms working...

My iTouch os 4.1 is doing the same thing. I've even tried turning off my location and switching to NY - same thing... going off an hour early. That's really bad when you are getting up at 3:30 and it goes off at 2:30 then again at 3 (have a 3:30am and a 4am set) Apple ... anyone out there?

I think I have figured out what is causing this problem, at least I solved it for myself. The problem stems from the crazy time zones in Indiana. Most of Indiana, my location included, is on the eastern time zone. There are two small sections, one in the northwest and one in the southwest, that are on central time. You can see the map of the time zones here http://www.worldtimezone.com/time-usa12.php . By default, my time zone was set to Indianapolis, which I believe used to be on what was called "Indiana East" time zone but now is on Eastern time like most of Indiana. This old "Indiana East" time zone would be on Eastern time for part of the year and on central time for the other part of the year. Apparently Apple does not know about the time zone changes in Indiana and that now everyone is either on Eastern time (most people) or Central time. Since my area of Indiana is always on Eastern time, I simply set my time zone to New York and it solved my problem and now the alarm goes off as it should. But if you live in the one of small sections of the northwest or southwest of the state you will want to set you time zone to a Central time zone city such as Chicago. So the solution is different depending on what part of Indiana you live it. I have only confirmed that setting the time zone for New York works for those of us in the parts of Indiana who are on Eastern time. I am only assuming that if you live in one of the Central time zones of Indiana that changing your time zone to Chicago will solve the problem. If anyone here lives in one of those zones I would be interested to learn of making the change to Chicago solves your problem or not. If it does not fix it then something is really screwy!

I'm having the same problem and I'm in New Zealand. Just moved out of daylight savings and my alarm is going off an hour early than it is set for. Only thing I can do is set it an hour later than it should be. And wait for the day it starts working properly again and I'm late for work.

And powering off my ipod didn't fix it
