What does this icon mean?

Hello,

My iPhone 4 battery is draining 1% on every 3 minutes. I fully charged iPhone and removed all the apps from multi-tasking expect the Apple pre-built apps. Even I turned off all the location services, notifications. Reduced the brightness and turn off several additional settings in apps including turn off EQ and Sound Check options in iPod.

Currently I've 3 mail accounts configured for Fetch and 1 Exchange Server account configured for Push.

Current Battery Status: 90%
Time since last full charge:
Usage - 44 minutes
Standby: 4 hours, 9 minutes

Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Sony, Windows 7

Since you did not put a picture of the icon in question i can only assume you mean the one that looks like an arrow that pops up on the top right of the screen, that is the location services icon, anytime an app uses location services it pops up to let you know, i.e if you use the camera and its asks to use location services for the places tab in your photos. you can turn off location services in settings, not sure of the impact on the battery with locations running but i have not noticed any reduction, hope this helps?????? maybe im answering the wrong question here

I just turn off the Push option completely. But me and my friend get iPhone on same day and we installed almost same apps (iMovie, WordPress, Twitter, Google, Bing, IBooks, Apple Store, Amazon.com and myWireless.)

When I look into his iPhone, The Standby time is more than 28 hours and Usage is also more than 6 hours until now.

I spoke with Apple Support few minutes back and they suggested me to restore the iPhone. Let's see if it helps me out from this issue!

I fully charged the iPhone then I restored it to default (from iTunes). Only synchronized my Outlook contacts. Didn't installed any apps or changed any settings.

After that I waited for 6 hours (standby time) and the battery is 92%. After that I'm in call for about 1 hour (several disconnects occurred in the mean time). Currently the battery is 37%

Now I confirmed that the battery is drain very quickly while I'm in call which is ridiculous! I've Genius appointment at Apple Store and let's see what happen...
