iPhone 4 and bluetooth headset constantly disconnects.

This new iPhone 4 is constantly disconnect and connecting to my jawbone headset. Never had an issue with my old 3g. Does have anything to do with the antenna issue??? I have the bumper on and am still having several dropped or failed calls everyday plus the bluetooth problems = Very Frustrating!!!!

To me this is really a safety issue for those like me on the go and talking while driving.

My setup; I have a BT enabled Navigation system in my car (Honda Civic) and an ear peace (Plantronics 520). I've never had issues with staying connected using my 3G iPhone, however the iPhone4 is constantly connecting and dis-connecting from both devices.

I did remove all phones from my car and re-sync with the new IP4 with no remedy.

Once you get hooked on this way of phone operation anything less just seems un-safe especially while driving.

My iPhone 4 connects to both Bluetooth units in my cars without issue.

When all of you experiencing problems first set up your iPhones, did you set them up as new iPhone or from a backup?

Any problems I hear about seem to be from people who set up their iPhones from an older iPhone backup (restore) as opposed to setting up as a new iPhone.

Just a thought

Mine was set up as a New phone, No restore for me.

Thanks Zebra1, your suggestion was also offered up on MacFixIt. I first tried a hard reset. No change. I then restored as new. No joy there either. The Bluetooth cut out within minutes of pairing back with my Plantronics Voyager Pro.

Nothing gained, I went to my Time Machine and restored from the last backup so I could retrieve all my individual app data. I will say this though, the frequency of disconnects is down to about a handful throughout the day and it only lasts 30 seconds.

As for the call clarity, it is a hit and miss. I do believe it is worse in the office as I have WIFi, computer equipment and a 2.4GHz cordless phone nearby that may be causing interference to the iPhone 4 antennas.

I am having similar issues. IP4, connected to a 2009 Toyota Bluetooth system. Worked flawlessly with my 3G.

I have erased all settings, rebooted phone, tried every way of pairing. Phone is always in a plastic holder 3 inches from stero or in cup holder. Result, static for the other end. No one can hear me and my calls get s garbeled and fade in and out. I hear just fine.

My 1G and 3G all work great, but not the iPhone 4.

I have not yet contacted Apple. I keep hoping I will find a solution on these boards.

I did upgrade my phone but have reset and rebooted dozens of times.

It may be worth a complete restore. What a pain. I also have a silicone case on my phone.
