locked iPod 4th gen.

I have recently purchased a new computer and typically use wall chargers to charge the family's ipods. My daughter locked her's and does'nt remember the code to unlock. Since we purchased the new PC the locked iPod does'nt recognize it. Please help!! I don't know what to do, and if I have to buy her a new one I'm going to cry.
