aperture won't reconize my gps file

i've imported gps tracks before (using the same process) with no problem but today for some reason aperture won't recognize any of my gps file formats. i have the track in the following formats:

.gpx
.gps.xml
.kml
.csv

all of which appear as grayed out when i try to import. i am using instamapper.com to export the data from the iphone app called "gps tracker"

any ideas?

macbook pro 17", Mac OS X (10.6.4), aperture 3.0.3
