So, with all these threads about battery life, I have been keeping a very close eye on my battery, usage and standby data. I don't use my phone much and noticed that without ever turning my phone on, from about 6:30 last night to 6:30 this morning, I have about 8 new minutes of usage- and the phone was never turned on!

I always assumed that usage meant me actually turning on and using the phone, but is it actually compiling time the phone may have spent searching for a signal or something? I do not have push or any apps turned on....

No, I have it set to so that I check for email manually. The only things "on" right now are:

Phone
Mail (but NOT push)
Contacts
Calendar
Notes
Calculator
Camera
Safari
Dots free
App Store
Barnes & Nobles App
iPod (but not playing music)

Nothing that I would think would be searching for signal at anytime or anything like that.
