Is there a way to get Wi_Fi connected if you don't know its password?

I connected my ipad to my laptop as directed to i-tunes for the download. Wi-Fi "Select a Network" keeps asking me for a password. I have tried every password I could have used when we had the Wi-Fi installed at our home, where I will be using the Ipad most of the time.
What can I do?

Ipad, Other OS, Ipad, 3g & Wi-Fi

Go to the router manufacturer's website and see if they have directions on how to reset a forgotten password.

on a secured wi-fi - no, that's the point. however, if it is your wifi router, then turn it over and look for a security code on the bottom a 16 digit WEP code. if not, then you could hit the reset button on the router, but this will then reset to factory settings and clear your security setings so your wifi will now be open, so you will now have to redo the security, but now you will know the password.
