Changing media types

my video files will not allow me to change their type from movie to music video or tv show i have tried what the help suggested but to no end, if i do it individually it is greyed out so i cant even click on the media type section when i do it as a group it allows me to do it but it then doesn't change anything. its the same with all my videos if i even want to change to name it will let me then not do it on the screen.

anyone know the reason its been like this for a good 6 months and i though it would be fixed with the new soft ware to no luck

If it's greyed out, that usually means itunes doesn't think it has WIndows 7 permission to change it. Even if you are the only user on the PC and using an admin account, you might not have proper permissions. Just checking to see if a file or folder is read-only isn't enough.

Here is what I'm talking about. Whether you can't change a file's info, or can't delete it - same thing.

Give yourself full control and ownership of the top-level music folder, and all its subfolders. Which means you need to check off "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects".

Some folks have even had to temporarily turn off UAC to edit items.
