RED YLLOW GREEN BUTTON Greyed out

Recently notice that the color has gone out of the resize/close buttons top left on any page on my MacPro. Have run Diskwarrior and Disk Utility to no avail. The buttons work but no color - concerned it may indicate a bigger problem lurking below - any ideas on how to fix it? Thks

MacPro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Mine are all grey because I prefer that to the bright "gum drop" look. You set the behavior as a preference. Go to System Preferences->Appearance. The first item is Appearance and there is a drop-down menu where you can choose Blue or Graphite. The Graphite choice will result in grey window buttons.
