I recently had to install itunes on a new computer. I'm trying to sync my 3gs iphone but don't want itunes to erase all my purchased content.

I have not connected my iphone to a itunes in several months and have a ton of music and apps that I downloaded thru wi-fi. I get the warning messages that all content will be erased if I try to sync....What's up with this?? I know you can't have more than one computer for the itunes but there must be a solution to this.

Any help is mucho appreciated!!!

Connect the iPhone and choose Transfer Purchases from the dialog box which appears or the File menu in iTunes. Do NOT sync the iPhone until you've completed this task.

BEFORE doing the Transfer you must Authorize the new computer to the same account that your iPhone is authorized to.

    Thank you both very-very much.
So if I complete those two tasks, I should be able to sync and update my iphone without itunes erasing anything?

If the iPhone only contains content from the iTunes Store, yes. The Transfer Purchases option won't move content from elsewhere.

yes, all content songs, apps and books purchased thru itunes.
I will give it a go then and try to update with the new software as well.
    Really appreciate your responses. Thanks!!
