Turn off Multitasking

Ya! Apple finally brought us Multitasking with jailbraking! Yippy! Now can someone tell me how to turn it off?

Apple's idea of 'multitasking' is to leave a copy of all the apps I've launched running? Really? Before when I jailbroke and added multitasking when I closed an app it was closed.

Sp is there a way to do this? can i disable this from my phone?

There is somethibg you need to understand about mutitasking in iOS4. Most apps are not running in the background, just suspended. When you exit the app, it enters a frozen state so that all power and runtime memory can be focussed on the app in the foreground. When you open the app again, it returns from its frozen state so you can return to what you were doing quicker without the app having to reload. Some apps, like Pandora, will continue to run in the background. To remove an app from the multitasking bar, double-tap the home button to bring it up. Then tap and hold an icon until they wiggle. Then press the minus on the app you want to remove.

I think the guy has a good point. Suspended or not, every app you open gets put in the "Recent" area. I would rather only see the ones that can multi-task down there. It is lame having to go down there and click-hold until the little red circles show up, then have to delete each one. There should be some settings you can use to say, "only store running apps", etc.

Tell that to WM6.5 and previous and Android phones.
They can do true multitasking and still get 5+ hours on a single charge AND they run flash.
There's a reason for Apple's longer battery life, it doesn't multitask and doesn't use heavy video encoding over 3G/wifi.

The iPhone can do true multitasking as well, but it's pointless.

As for true multitasking, THEY may be able to, but I guarantee you that YOU can't truly multitask on the phone. And if you love those phones so much, why are you on this forum then? Troll...

Calling me a troll because I said windows mobile and android phones can truly multitask instead of suspend the application on the background.
Wow. At least give some insight.
iPhone 3GS jailbroken can multitask but after awhile it becomes painfully slow and battery life is 3-4 hours tops.
Again, once you've provided a true insight into the phone itself, comment. If not, then don't call me a troll just because I'm pointing out the flaws to future buyers that you DO NOT want them to find out.
Trolls go both ways, for and against something. So, you sir are a troll.

Nobody believed me about this being the design flaw. Not even gizmodo until a video surfaced.

Wow, you just called me a troll, yet the things I mentioned in my post, you addressed nothing; you just simply tried to defend it, but very weakly. I could care less if people don't get an iPhone. In fact, I prefer it. I'm one of the biggest supporters of the iPhone on Verizon, mainly because all these people are stupidly getting the device on service they can't use.

I personally love AT&T, as I've never had a bad experience with them, but too many people are coming to AT&&T because of the device. Stupidest reason to get a phone and join a carrier.

So go away, Troll.
